Addressing sexual violence in post-secondary 

Join the University of Calgary, Mount Royal University and Bow Valley College to hear how post-secondary institutions are working in solidarity to address sexual violence.

Moderated by Debra Tomlinson, experts will discuss unique challenges for university campuses, followed by a question period.

Speakers: 

Debra Tomlinson (she/her) is the CEO of the Association of Alberta Sexual Assault Services and has more than 30 years experience in the non-profit sector, primarily in the areas of sexual assault/abuse and domestic violence.

Carla Bertsch (she/her) is UCalgary's Sexual Violence Support Advocate. As a registered social worker, she leads on-campus education and champions the needs and rights of anyone affected by sexual violence. 

Cari Ionson (she/her) is Mount Royal University's Sexual Violence Response and Awareness Coordinator. Cari implements awareness initiatives, provides support and advocacy, and addresses institutional barriers.

Erin Kordich (she/her) is Bow Valley College's Sexual Violence Support and Education Liaison. She provides support to students affected by sexual violence and promotes awareness, prevention and education initiatives.
