Students, trainees, faculty and staff, As I’ve shared with you previously, all University of Calgary students, faculty, staff and visitors are required to wear a face covering while in indoor public spaces located on UCalgary campuses. In response to questions posed by members of our university community, the Campus Face Coverings Protocol has been expanded with more FAQs, tips, resources and guidelines for non-compliance, including those situations when the university will consider disciplinary action. Please take the time to review the protocols and refer to them periodically if you’re planning to be on campus. Learning and working

Research operations
- On Sept. 1, the university discontinued the Expanded Research Designation (ERD) process.
- Moving forward, researchers who are planning to return to campus must follow the guidance available under the Resources for Return to Campus section on UCalgary's COVID-19 Response web page and complete (or ensure you’re included in an existing) Workplace Safety Plan.
- If you’ve already been approved to return to campus, no action is required.
- Any outstanding ERD applications will be resolved shortly.
- If you have questions about research exemptions, please contact [email protected].
- Processes for lab safety plans are currently being refined and I'll share more information when it becomes available.
- Applications for the 2020 Lions Sight Centre Fund Award will be accepted until Sept. 15. Learn more.
