New Scholarship Application coming Nov. 1, 2018 This fall, applying for university scholarships will be so much easier. FGS is putting the final touches on a brand new web application accessible through your Student Centre on Nov. 1. The new scholarship application will make it easier for you to start, complete and monitor the status of multiple award applications over time. Winter Conferral of Degree Applications for graduation for Winter conferral of degree (Feb. 2019) will be available on Nov. 2, 2018 in your Student Centre. The deadline to make application for Winter conferral of degree is Jan. 15, 2019.
Free flu shots at UCalgary campuses Oct. 15 – Nov. 2 Students, faculty and staff are invited to and encouraged to get a free flu shot at a convenient location near you. This year, five different campuses will host UCalgary’s influenza vaccination clinics. No appointment necessary — view the complete schedule for all campuses.
FGS at Foothills Campus FGS’s Graduate Academic and International Specialist is now holding weekly office hours on Foothills Campus every Wednesday, 9 am to 12 pm at the Student Advising and Wellness (SAW) Office, HSC G740. Use Schedule Builder web tool to register for courses In your Student Center, click on the green "Schedule Builder" button (top right) to build a potential class schedule and determine courses where there is a time conflict. To wait-list a course that conflicts with a class you are already enrolled in, go to your Student Centre and enroll on the wait-list for the course you want using the “Edit” or “Swap” function. Candidacy Fees PhD students successfully meeting candidacy requirements between Sep. 1 and Dec. 31, 2018 will have their tuition fees changed to a continuing rate in Winter Term 2019. (Graduate Calendar C.1.1).

EVDS Annual Research conference - Call for Abstracts Deadline is Oct. 29, 2018, 12pm. Conference proposals can address any topic relevant to ‘Disruptive Design’. We encourage you to be creative in your submissions, which can involve proposed research projects, literature reviews, methodological explorations, case studies, or presentations of thesis research. Indigenous Knowledge Public Lecture Series: Margaret Kovach, Oct. 25 Dr. Margaret Kovach's work focuses on Indigenous research methodologies and Indigenous post-secondary education. Dr. Kovach's publications have had a significant impact in her field, most notably, her book Indigenous Methodologies: Characteristics, Conversations, and Contexts. More info and registration here.
