Dear Researchers, You are receiving this email because you are involved in a study that has received operational approval to be conducted in one or more AHS facilities. As you know, the current pandemic has required certain changes to research procedures. Most importantly,
- Ongoing studies may continue; however, only new clinical studies identified as essential will be considered for initiation and receive AHS administrative approval at this time. All COVID-related studies will have an additional review for operational impact through the AHS command centres. While AHS recognizes the importance of rigorous research, the response to the pandemic changes daily and may limit AHS’ ability to initiate or continue a study.
- For non-interventional clinical studies, such as those involving surveys or interviews, please use phone or virtual communications to avoid in-person interactions. If in-person contact is required, current AHS guidelines for these interactions must be followed.
- All research staff are subject to screening prior to accessing an AHS facility. No one who has traveled or exhibits mild cold or flu-like symptoms (e.g. cough, runny nose or sore throat, loose stool or rash) may enter AHS facilities for research purposes.
