A student has tested positive for Covid-19. This individual’s infectious window on campus was between Oct. 7-9. This case is a close personal contact to a case reported earlier this week. At this time the likelihood of further contacts between the affected individual and University of Calgary students, faculty, staff or contractors is considered low.
LOCATION AND DATE(S)
Oct. 7 – 10:00 to 16:00: Taylor Institute for Teaching & Learning breakout room.
Oct. 9 – 11:00 to 21:00: Engineering A open atrium 2nd floor and ENG A 201.
Areas where the affected individual is known to have spent time have been deep cleaned. Contact tracing is underway and close contacts have been identified. If you have not heard from AHS or the University of Calgary, you are not believed to be a close contact. Please contact Health Link at 8-1-1 with any questions.
We would like to remind our campus community of the updated isolation guidance for employees and students which include a guide of when to come on campus. Please do not come to campus if you are experiencing any cold or flu-like symptoms and go home immediately if symptoms develop while you are on campus. Anyone who is awaiting results of Covid-19 test should continue to isolate, even if symptoms resolve before test results are known.
To keep our community informed and safe, the University of Calgary sends Covid-19 notices for cases we have been made aware of that may affect our community. If you believe you may have been exposed to this case (within two meters for 15+ minutes without a barrier): immediately isolate, complete the AHS self-assessment and obtain a Covid-19 test, and email [email protected].
