The Canadian Women in Medicine Conference
The Canadian Women in Medicine Conference is coming to Calgary (CWIM)! The 2025 annual wellness conference will be held May 30 - June 1 and registration takes place in November.
Now coming up on its sixth year, the CWIM Conference continues to provide best-in-class education on topics aligned with its mission to help women physicians thrive both personally and professionally.

It has grown to become the largest gathering of women physicians in North America, with typically around 1,300 attendees. Registration for CWIM Partners opens on November 5. New Deputy Head - Clinical Affairs
Dr. Jonathan Gilleland is a pediatric intensivist and clinical associate professor in the section of pediatric critical care at Alberta Children’s Hospital. He recently completed a Master of Health Management and is also the medical lead of the pediatric critical care outreach team known locally as STEP and the hospital code blue committee. He moved to Calgary in 2016 and before this, he was the division head of pediatric critical care at McMaster Children’s Hospital and completed his medical training at both McMaster University and the Hospital for Sick Children.

Alberta Children's Hospital Complex Care ECHO
The Alberta Children’s Hospital Complex Care Program is inviting all healthcare providers to register for their upcoming ECHO (Extensions for Community Health Outcomes) Project focused on children with medical complexity.

ECHO aims to foster a virtual case-based learning environment and community of practice for pediatric complex care. The ECHO will commence in January 2025, offering 6 sessions throughout the year that will see topics related to enteral nutrition, clinical ethics, pain, dystonia management, bone health, and resources. Printing & Downloading on non-AHS Devices - Exemption Request Process
Please see the attached memo regarding the recent changes to printing and downloading on non-AHS devices.
AHS IT has streamlined the exemption request process (via ITARF) for physicians to reduce administrative burden. A quicker way to submit exemption requests is now live, and an attached step-by-step PDF guide is available for your reference.
