New: 2023 UCalgary Three Minute Thesis
The 2023 UCalgary Three Minute Thesis is coming soon! The 3MT is a graduate student research communication competition for thesis-based students. Participants have three minutes and a single, static slide to share their research for a general audience. FGS offers workshops on presentation skills and graphic design, as well as feedback sessions to help participants perfect their talks! The winner will represent UCalgary at Western Regionals. Cash prizes are up for grabs! Registration opens February 1.  Learn more.
 
New: Spring/Summer 2023 Course Registration
Students with spring or summer registration anniversaries can initialize their registration starting January 30, 2023. All students can view the Spring/Summer course schedule and add courses to their shopping carts as of January 30, 2023. Course registration opens February 7, 2023.

Grad students, connect with the Faculty of Graduate Studies' graduate academic and international advisors for help with academic issues, overcoming personal or academic barriers to your progress, supervisor concerns, or other issues related to academic regulations. CONTINUING RATES FOR WINTER 2023
PhD students admitted Winter 2020 or earlier, who have a successful candidacy examination between Jan. 1, 2023 up to and including Apr. 30, 2023 are eligible to have their tuition fees reduced to a continuing rate in Spring term 2023.

January 27: Thesis-Based Degrees: Last Day to Submit Required Forms to FGS and Thesis to The Vault to be Eligible for Winter Conferral and Cancel Winter Registration Add to calendar

CIHR CGS Michael Smith Foreign Study Supplements
Deadline Feb. 1. Review eligibility and application requirements. CIHR will hold a third competition for the Canada Graduate Scholarships - Michael Smith Foreign Study Supplements (CGS – MSFSS) program for the 2022-2023 fiscal year. Apply here.

2023 Winter Kit Collection
The Graduate College is excited to announce its 2nd Winter Kit Collection event. From now until January 30th, the Graduate College will be collecting donations to help people facing homelessness and shelter insecurity in Calgary’s harsh winter conditions. These items will then be donated to the Calgary Drop-in Centre on January 31, 2023. For more information on what and how to donate, please visit our website.
