MD Admissions File Review Committee
The University of Calgary MD Admissions office would like to put a call out for applicants to join our CSM File Review Sub-Committee.
We would be delighted to have you on board as part of our academic file reviewers’ team.
Please review the details below and use the provided link to sign up for our upcoming training session.
As a file reviewer, you’ll play a vital role in evaluating and scoring applicant files to determine interview invitations for medical school. Our committee comprises 60 to 80 members from diverse backgrounds, including faculty members, residents, students, allied healthcare professionals, and community members from southern and central Alberta. The perspectives of physicians are especially valuable in ensuring key aspects of medicine are thoughtfully reflected in our assessments. The total time commitment varies according to individual pace; most reviewers typically spend 20-30 hours reviewing their assigned files. This review period runs from the end of November through mid-January, allowing you to work at your own pace from home via our online platform, UCAN. We will also provide a training session over Zoom in the second week of November to prepare you for the file review process. This is a strictly volunteer position, however; the time can be used to claim Continuing Medical Education credits under assessment and documentation of your contributions is provided. |
