Join Gensler, along with other leading Canadian architects and designers on Thursday, January 25, 2024 and Friday, January 26, 2024, for a collaborative review of resumes and portfolios to assist BIPOC Students in the design industry with the next steps in their careers. In the 4th annual BIPOC Portfolio Collaboration, students will be granted a half hour review session with two professionals within the fields of Architecture, Interior Design, Landscape Architecture, Architectural Technology, Experiential Design (Signage & Wayfinding and Environmental Graphic Design).
This will be an opportunity for students to engage in conversations with members of the design community while refining their interview skills. Strategies and advice will be shared by all participants to gear students towards design excellence and enrichment within their future careers.

REAL MATTER is an annual summer workshop in Raleigh, NC, hosted by in situ studio and organized around a collaborative urban project, a robust lecture series, and building tours.
The application-based workshop is open to 20 students and young professionals from across the United States, Mexico and Canada in an effort to challenge the perception, value, and relevancy of the practice of architecture in Raleigh, one of the fastest growing cities in the United States. While specific to Raleigh, workshop projects address urban challenges that face many American cities.

The NCC’s Urban Design Challenge 2024: Student Ideas Competition for the National Capital Region is now live. The competition is open to university and college students in urban planning/urbanism, landscape architecture, architecture, urban design and other related design programs.
Participation is free and the deadline for registration is Saturday, January 26, 2024 and submissions are due on Thursday, March 28, 2024.

The CAA Student Award will recognize the work of students in Years 1-3 which creatively addresses issues associated with social, economic, and environmental well-being in the context of the current biodiversity crisis and climate emergency.
The CAA President’s Award will recognize the work of students in Years 4, 5 & 6 which critically and creatively addresses the issues associated with social, economic, and environmental well-being in the context of the current biodiversity crisis and climate emergency.
The deadline for both the awards are Friday, May 31, 2024.

The Dream’s Development team is currently looking for an Intern to support their team and learn and grow for 8 months from May 2024 to December 2024.
Design Workshop is looking for passionate and motivated students of all backgrounds to join their 2024 Summer Internship. Participants will experience a dynamic, creative design environment in one of their eight studios.

The opportunity to exchange ideas with people from diverse backgrounds fosters firm and individual growth, strengthens a project process and outcomes, and creates a global community in the workplace. Established in 2004, the Dr. Charles Fountain Internship was created to provide opportunities for students of color, who are often underrepresented in the fields of landscape architecture and planning, to gain experience in a studio environment. Students will divide their time between a range of projects, including a signature Dr. Charles Fountain team project. Dr. Charles Fountain was Professor Emeritus of Landscape Architecture and founder of the Landscape Architecture Program at North Carolina A&T.
