Calgary Student Housing Crisis
With the province growing quickly, students have found themselves hit with a one-two punch of rising tuition and rents. Almost 90 per cent of young adults 18-34 believe housing should be a top priority for government. And yet, things are worse than ever.
For now, students are learning that finding a place to live can be as tough as anything they face in the classroom.

Think Privacy/Security Over Convenience – It's a Choice
What you share online and with who can open you up to all kinds of cybersecurity and privacy threats, from identity theft to fraud, phishing, and online scams. But you can combat these threats by pausing before downloading new apps to check the developer’s and app’s reputation, reviewing pictures to ensure there is no identifying information before posting and critically thinking about what information is being shared and with whom. It might be more than you think.
Check out UCalgary’s Social Media Safety page, for more information. As always, all members of our campus community are strongly encouraged to report all cybersecurity incidents and concerns to UService and report all instances of phishing to [email protected].

Accretion | Alex Mai | MArch
Year: 2018
Media: Graphite on Paper Size: N/A Description: Joint project with an anonymous grade 7 student. We each drew on the artwork for 45 minutes individually and continuously passed on the artwork to each other until the drawing was finished. I was the lead artist of this project, and the goal was to harmoniously blend both my style of drawing with my partner’s to the point where it is indistinguishable that this artwork was created by two artists. Can you tell the two styles apart?
