Join UN Women and keynote speaker Paul Brandt as we bring the global movement for gender equality to our campus.

Paul Brandt's keynote address will explore his role as a male advocate in the gender-based violence space through his work as the founder of #NotInMyCity, a local non-profit focused on the prevention of human trafficking and sexual exploitation.


Following the keynote there will be a panel conversation featuring UCalgary and community experts on topics including male allyship, advocacy and gender-based violence. 

Panelists include: 

  • Leslie Reid (moderator) - Vice-Provost (Teaching & Learning) 
  • Bill Rosehart - Dean, Schulich School of Engineering 
  • Chris Borduas - PhD student, Werklund School of Education
  • Dawn Johnston - Associate Dean (Teaching, Learning and Student Engagement), Faculty of Arts; Teaching Professor, Department of Communication, Media and Film 
  • Kiara Mikita - Educational Development Consultant, Research in Teaching and Learning
  • Pamela Ellemers - Manager, Mineral Resource Management, De Beers Group
  • Paul Brandt - Founder of #NotInMyCity
