Knowledge to Impact: Igniting Community Engagement

The University of Calgary invites you to join a day-long symposium focused on the concept of city building and the university’s role contributing to the resilience and social, economic and cultural development of Calgary. Participants will include professionals from the university and broader community active in cooperative community building, community engaged teaching and learning and community engaged research. The program will feature keynote speakers, a moderated panel discussion and community ‘lightning rounds’ on emerging topics in community engagement.

Keynote Speakers:

  • Dr. Michael Hart, Vice Provost, Indigenous Engagement, UCalgary
  • Beth Gignac, Chief Operating Officer, United Way of Calgary and Area

Location: City Building Design Lab (former central library downtown branch, MacLeod Trail & 7th Ave SW)

Time: 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (program begins at 9)

Transit is encouraged, the venue is right off of the City Hall LRT station.
