Beakerhead: A Matter of Mettle

The University of Calgary invites you to join Dame Jocelyn Bell Burnell, one of the world’s outstanding physicists in conversation.

Dame Jocelyn Bell was a young physicist when she noticed “a bit of scruff” in the data gathered from deep space by the Cambridge, United Kingdom, lab where she worked. It was pretty subtle but oddly regular. She kept digging and the rest is history. She famously discovered the pulsar, described as “one of the most significant scientific achievements of the 20th century.” 

This event is being produced in partnership with Beakerhead, a mash-up of art, science and engineering.
