Treaty 7 Day: As long as the sun shines, the grass grows, and the rivers flow

The University of Calgary’s Office of Indigenous Engagement is creating space on September 18, 2025, to acknowledge and honour Treaty 7 (Sept. 22, 1877).
You're invited to attend an in-person panel discussion to learn about the experiences and perspectives of treaty rights, roles, and responsibilities and our treaty relationship.
UCalgary’s Treaty 7 Day is also a time to promote reflection, awareness, and enhance the campus community’s understanding that we are all treaty people.
Hosted by the Office of Indigenous Engagement, the Treaty 7 Day will welcome a panel discussion with Piikani Elder Noella Wells, Jonathon Brewer, Specialist, Cultural Protocols (Indigenous Engagement), Onyx Shelton, Cultural Events and Program Coordinator (Writing Symbols Lodge), Sulyn Bodnaresko, Indigenous Accelerator, Project Manager (One Child Every Child) and will be moderated by Gerald Ratt, Specialist, Indigenous Intercultural Education (Indigenous Engagement).
