Data Literacy for Cow-Calf Producers

This program is offered entirely free, sponsored by the Government of Alberta, as part of the Alberta Digitalization Agriculture program. Hotel accommodations and dinner (the night before each workshop) are also provided at no cost. Bring a partner, employee, or family member to support the adoption of new practices for data management in your operation. Individuals that are a part of the same organization are encouraged to share a double room (two beds).

The Simpson Centre for Food and Agricultural Policy at the University of Calgary’s School of Public Policy is coordinating the program’s design and delivery. The data literacy program is brought to you in partnership with Olds College, Lakeland College, EMILI, Agri-Food Management Excellence, RDAR, and the Canadian Cattle Identification Agency.
Our upcoming workshop promotes the digitalization of records by showcasing benchmarking data and explaining how data can drive better decision-making. We will cover cost-efficient calves marketing, feeding strategies, and health management practices.
