Disability & the City Symposium
Our Vision: Build Accessible Communities
At the heart of Disability & The City lies one central objective: Position people with disabilities as active contributors in the creation of thriving, inclusive communities. Through fostering a collaborative transdisciplinary network, we reimagine disability in urban contexts.
In the face of a myriad of urban challenges in disability inclusion around the globe, Calgary remains poised to lead in developing disability-inclusive strategies through initiatives spearheaded by individuals like yourself. The Disability & the City Symposium is the pivotal step where we align the expertise and interests of Calgary's disability scholars and community rightsholders.
- Knowledge Exchange: Engage and discover leading voices in urban design, policy development, community health, and more.
- Interactive Sessions: Participate in sessions sharing, evaluating current practices and envisioning new paradigms in accessible urban development.
- Networking Opportunities: Connect with professionals, academics, and advocates dedicated to advancing inclusive urban living.
Why Participate? Together, we are stronger.
The symposium provides a platform to learn about and engage in ongoing initiatives, connect with colleagues, advance collaborative opportunities, and co-create new directions. We believe your unique perspective is vital to amplify our collective impact and catalyze the future of an accessible Calgary.
