Science in the Cinema presents Beautiful Boy

Hosted by the University of Calgary's Cumming School of Medicine (CSM), Science in the Cinema brings together science and popular culture in a fun and engaging way.

Based on the best-selling pair of memoirs from father and son David and Nic Sheff, Beautiful Boy chronicles the heartbreaking and inspiring experience of survival, relapse and recovery in a family coping with addiction over many years.

After the film, researchers from the University of Calgary's Mathison Centre for Mental Health Research & Education will host a panel and Q&A on addiction research, including UCalgary’s recently launched iPATH (Integrated Pathway from Addiction to Health) initiative.
