2023 ii' taa'poh'to'p Journey Update: Becoming Relatives
On November 28, the Office of the Vice-Provost (Indigenous Engagement) will commemorate six years since launching the University of Calgary's Indigenous Strategy, ii’ taa’poh’to’p. To celebrate, we invite students, faculty, leadership and community partners to join us for UCalgary’s 2023 ii' taa'poh'to'p Journey Update: Becoming Relatives.
Hosted by Dr. Shawna Cunningham, EdD, Acting Vice-Provost (Indigenous Engagement), the event will include:
- Four stories offered by UCalgary staff and faculty in support of and in alignment with our visionary circles: Ways of Knowing, Ways of Doing, Ways of Connecting and Ways of Being.
- Campus highlights from our continued journey towards reconciliation as guided by ii’ taa’poh’to’p.
- A keynote address on Ethical Relationality as Kinship Wisdom from Dr. Dwayne Donald, PhD, a professor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Alberta. An introduction and discussion will be led by UCalgary president, Dr. Ed McCauley, PhD.
Please join us in celebrating our collective journey in being and becoming ‘good relatives’ as we take up our responsibility of reconciliation through education as established in the Final Report on Truth and Reconciliation.
