Students experiencing a mental illness are challenged not only by the symptoms of the illness, but also have to deal with prejudice and discrimination that exist concurrently. In this workshop, participants will become familiar with the stigma of mental illness and how to reduce it in the classroom and educational context. As well, participants will learn a set of strategies to better support students who are in distress. This workshop is interactive with activities and group discussion, as well as scenarios for participants to work through.
