Stewardship, Sustainability & Ethics

What ethical changes are required on the part of individuals, communities, businesses and governments to foster effective land stewardship and environmental citizenship? Human modernization has led to massive changes to our planet: climate change, biodiversity loss and ecosystem degradation. Our destructive behaviours are leading to water scarcity, poor air quality, food insecurity and loss of habitable land.

Join moderator Dr. Allen Habib, Assistant Professor in UCalgary’s Department of Philosophy and expert panelists Dr. Stephen Gardiner, Professor of Philosophy, Ben Rabinowitz Endowed Professor of Human Dimensions of the Environment at the University of Washington and Anna-Maria Hubert, Assistant Professor in UCalgary’s Faculty of Law, for a solutions-focused discussion of ethical, moral and legal obligations to build a resilient and sustainable planet for present and future generations.
