Women in Engineering Day 2019
Women in Engineering Day is scheduled for Wednesday, February 20, 2019, so please save the date.
You are invited to join us for this FREE annual event designed to introduce Grade 10 and 11 girls to engineering. This event is coordinated by teacher or career counselors as a field trip to the University of Calgary. We request you manage the required permission forms needed from your school. We will send out a photo release form for parents to sign. This is not a requirement to attend, but we do need to know if any students cannot be photographed.
This fun-filled interactive day includes:
- information on engineering
- an engineering design competition
- department demonstrations
- lunch
- life as an engineering student presentation
- a panel discussion led by successful female engineers
Registration requirements and details:
- Women in Engineering Day requires each school to have a teacher or approved chaperone to attend the event with all students. This includes transportation to and from the University of Calgary. Permission forms need to be managed by the teacher/chaperone to meet the field trip requirements of your school.
- When you register please only register the teacher/chaperone’s name and email.
- Please send an email to Alison Barrett at [email protected] with your student attendee list. This list needs to include the students first name, last initial and grade. If you are not sure of numbers, please email your expected group number and details to Alison in January.
- Photo release forms: we have hired a photographer for the event and you should have received a photo release form. This form is not mandatory for parents to sign if they prefer not to have photos taken of their child.
