Meet the experts

Martina Payette, BA’89, NCC, PCC
Martina Payette’s love of people and conversations and her optimism have been integral parts of her interest in how we develop work-life satisfaction. Her 26 years in career development includes 20 years with UCalgary, including the Haskayne School of Business Career Centre and Career Services teams. She’s active in the “gig economy” as a career strategist and executive coach, career-transition consultant and owner of BEing U Coaching. She’s also worked with Lee Hecht Harrison Knightsbridge and VelvetJobs. Her specialty is creating and delivering work-life satisfaction and career transition learning and coaching programs for individuals, small-business teams and community organizations, along with personalized one-on-one career-strategy coaching.

April Dyrda, BA’14, MSc’18
April Dyrda is a recent graduate and double alumna of the University of Calgary, with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and a Master of Science in counselling psychology. Her education and research background focused on the career preparedness of higher learners, investigating how individuals can best approach and navigate change in their careers and in their workplaces. She is a Registered Provisional Psychologist and workplace consultant, specializing in career development and transition.
