ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Viola Birss is a world leader in the area of electrochemistry at surfaces and interfaces, and in nanomaterials development for a wide range of clean energy applications. She is a professor in UCalgary's Department of Chemistry.

Mishka Lysack’s research is focused on the connections between a healthy environment, renewable energy and a sustainable economy, as well as links between community, social health and well-being. He is an associate professor in the University of Calgary's Faculty of Social Work.

David Wood is a professor at UCalgary's Schulich School of Engineering. His research projects include wind and solar energy forecasting, turbine design, urban wind resource mapping and harnessing renewable energy resources in developing countries.
