ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Gavin McCormack is an associate professor in UCalgary's Department of Community Health Sciences, Cumming School of Medicine, and is an adjunct associate professor in the Faculty of Environmental Design. He is a Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) New Investigator and in 2014 was named as one of Avenue Magazines ‘Top 40 Under 40’.

Gavin's research program is in the area of population and public health, and is predominantly focused on the relationships between the physical and social environments and physical activity, diet, sedentary behaviour, and weight status.
