Reinventing the nation: Germany’s post-unification drive towards becoming a country of immigration

University of Calgary International, the Faculty of Arts and the Honorary Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany are pleased to invite you to Germany Day, a celebration of German culture that will feature a lecture, film screening and reception.  

Date: Monday, October 3

Time: 5:30-9:30 p.m.

*Lecture starts at 5:30 p.m. with reception to follow. Film will start at 7:30 p.m.

Place: MacEwan Student Centre Hall B - Please note, the venue has changed from the previously listed Taylor Family Digital Library Gallery Hall

Dr. Oliver Schmidtke, a professor in the departments of history and political science at the University of Victoria, will discuss migration and multiculturalism in Germany.

The lecture will be followed by the film Wir sind jung. Wir sind stark. / We Are Young. We Are Strong. Watch trailer.

Entrance to this event is free and refreshments will be provided. Public parking is available in the Arts Parkade.
